Century
How Century interprets wearable data
A transparent overview of the principles behind Century’s scores and editorial explanations.
Trends before isolated readings
Wearable measurements vary with device fit, sampling, sleep stage, movement, environment, and the algorithms used by each platform. Century emphasizes personal baselines and multi-day trends instead of treating one value as a verdict.
Signals depend on the connected source
Century can only interpret data a supported device or service makes available. Missing measurements, changed permissions, device upgrades, or irregular wear can affect scores and trends.
Wellness, not diagnosis
Recovery, sleep, health, effort, and biological-age outputs are wellness estimates. They are designed to support reflection and behavior—not diagnose illness or replace a clinician, laboratory test, or validated medical assessment.
Editorial evidence
Health explanations should link to primary research, official device documentation, or recognized clinical guidance. Articles show an expert-review label only when a named reviewer has completed that review.
